About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer/Associate to join our well-regarded Government Advisory team. Working alongside Partners Mark Henry and Angela Barac and the wider team, this role will focus on providing merits review for a Commonwealth Government agency

This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team and have responsibility for your own matters. Day to day you will have the following responsibilities:

* Drafting summaries of evidence and statements of issues.
* Assisting and attending case conferences and hearings.
* Conducting directions hearings.
* Drafting litigation strategies.
* Complex statutory interpretation.

About you

In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

* Approximately 1-3 years post qualification experience, ideally with experience in government advisory work, and have a strong interest in administrative law and statutory interpretation.
* You may have a background of working in government and be keen to make your first move into a law firm. Alternatively, you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking for a new opportunity.
* You will have strong drafting skills, excellent communication skills and a collegiate approach.
