We are seeking proactive and community-focused Safer Community Officers to support the safety, wellbeing and security of our campus community. In this dynamic frontline role you will engage with students, staff and visitors while providing visible patrols, responding to incidents, supporting wellbeing matters, and assisting during emergencies and special events.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct high visibility foot, bicycle and vehicle patrols across campus
* Provide safety escorts and general assistance to students, staff and visitors
* Respond to safety, security and wellbeing incidents
* Provide initial support and referrals for individuals experiencing distress, crisis or wellbeing concerns
* Assist with emergency and non-emergency situations until emergency services arrive
* Support traffic and event management activities
* Record incidents and maintain accurate reports
* Provide first‐response support and referrals for welfare and wellbeing concerns
* Operate security systems and mobile kiosk services
* Assist with enforcement of University Land and Traffic By‐Laws
Selection Criteria
* Certificate II in Security Operations
* Current Senior First Aid Certificate
* WA Driver's Licence (essential)
* Certificate III or IV in Security Operations (desirable)
* Experience working within a security control room environment or similar operational setting (desirable)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong conflict resolution and de‐escalation abilities
* A calm and professional approach in challenging situations
* The ability to work both independently and within a team
* Strong customer service skills with a culturally sensitive approach
* Sound judgement and the ability to assess and respond to incidents quickly
* Confidence using computers, databases and security systems
An understanding of wellbeing support, crisis intervention or trauma‐informed practices is highly regarded.
Role Requirements
* This position operates on a rotating roster which includes day, afternoon, night shifts and weekend work
* Successful applicants must have permanent work rights in Australia
* Applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance and background, integrity, and reference checks

* Salary package of $66,991 – $72,860 per annum (G03) plus 17% superannuation
