The RoleWe're looking for highly skilled CNC Machinists to join our day-shift workshop team in Paget.You'll be programming, setting and operating CNC machines on a wide range of components – often large and complex – with the chance to work across multiple machines in a precision-focused environment.
CAD/CAM knowledge is highly desirable, and this role is ideal for someone who thrives on producing accurate, high quality work.ResponsibilitiesProgramming, setting, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture precision components using Fanuc and Okuma controllersRunning multiple CNC machines efficiently and managing workflow to meet production targetsOperating manual borersReading and interpreting complex engineering and CAD drawings to produce jobs to exact specificationsUsing CAD/CAM software (highly regarded) to create or edit CNC programsMachining hydraulic cylinder components, shafts, and other heavy industrial parts to tight tolerancesConducting in-process quality checks with micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring toolsPerforming machine adjustments, tool changes, and maintenance to ensure optimal performanceCollaborating with workshop team members to troubleshoot and deliver on deadlinesMaintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace in line with HMG safety standardsWhat We're Looking ForTrade-qualified CNC Machinist (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)Proven CNC machining experience — programming, setting, and operatingAbility to confidently operate multiple machines (lathes and mills)Experience working with large or complex components to close tolerancesStrong understanding of G-code and CNC control systemsCAD/CAM software knowledge (highly desirable)Skilled in precision measurement and quality assurance checksAbility to work independently with a proactive, problem-solving mindsetReliable, safety-conscious, and team-orientedCurrent driver's licence and reliable transportAbility to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screeningWhy You'll Love Working Here38 hours per week + overtimeAccess to well-equipped CNC workshop facilitiesWork on diverse and challenging projects across mining, transport, and energy industriesSupportive and safety-first team environmentHow to ApplyThis vacancy is being managed by our labour hire partner, Haynes People.At Haynes, we keep things simple: we back your talent and help you land roles that match your strengths.
