Legal Counsel, Office of General Counsel – Melbourne
Opportunity to join a leading international green energy developer company as Legal Counsel.
Location: Melbourne, Chadstone, Victoria, Australia
Job Responsibilities
* Provide legal support to the project development team.
* Responsible for risk control for the company’s investment in power station projects (solar & energy storage), including participation in designing the project acquisition plan, drafting, negotiation, revision and review of contracts, risk evaluation and avoidance, project construction supervision, etc.
* Support the business line development teams and other teams in drafting and negotiating documents supporting their activities and the development of projects, including drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial agreements such as EPC agreements, land options, leases, connection agreements, PPAs, tender documents, etc.
* Accompany projects through financial close, reviewing and drafting loan agreements, security agreements, common terms agreements, and liaising with lenders’ legal advisors.
* Research local laws, regulations and policies, including company law, investment law, land law, construction law, civil and commercial law, photovoltaic power project policies, and the practical operations of relevant laws and regulations.
* Study relevant laws and regulations that relate to the project and practical operations.
* Assist and supervise the external law firm to complete project legal service work.
Qualifications
* Strong legal experience in the renewable or power industry, or real‑estate development.
* Strong skills in legal research and writing.
* Careful, meticulous, and able to adapt to high‑strength and high‑pressure work.
* Past experience in project development (land, permitting).
