The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Information Security Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Support the management of day-to-day operations of the Information Security and Assurance service
* Facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of the Information Security Management System
* Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of information and cyber security policies
* Engage with internal stakeholders to raise awareness of security risks
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* While not mandatory, the following would be well regarded:
o Relevant tertiary qualification and/or recognised industry certifications in Information Security, Risk Management, Information Management, Cyber Security, ISMS, or a related field
o Recognised entry-level industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or similar
o Experience in managing information security, compliance, or risk management programs within a complex environment, preferably healthcare or government
o Sound knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards, including ISO27001 and Essential 8
o Demonstrated experience in operational IT or information security roles
o Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders
* Position is on-site and not suitable for remote working
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Permanent full time
* Base salary ranging from $125 002 - $133 898 per annum
