Job Description
Compensation: $16.00-18.00/hour
The General Service Technician role combines front and back shop responsibilities, including at least two days per week at the front counter. Responsibilities include performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance per company and manufacturer standards, communicating vehicle issues to guests, and providing excellent guest service. As a key holder and manager on duty (MOD) when needed, you will help ensure a welcoming environment, drive sales, and maintain store standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and accurately, adhering to Monro standards.
2. Perform tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, and TPMS service.
3. Perform vehicle services including oil changes, lubrication, bulb, wiper, filter replacements, battery testing, and installation.
4. Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, identifying and communicating additional needed services.
5. Assist with inventory management, including pulling and stocking tires and parts.
6. Maintain store cleanliness and condition to Monro standards.
7. Perform services safely, following safety standards and procedures.
8. Test drive vehicles per policy, observing traffic laws and safety protocols.
9. Adhere to company policies, government standards, and safety regulations.
10. Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing training.
11. Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
12. Assist in guest care, work order completion, register duties, and facility maintenance.
13. Support opening and closing procedures as a secondary key holder.
14. Communicate effectively about products and services offered.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Automotive training or experience in basic car maintenance and repair.
* Valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
* Own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.
