Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will support the overall clinical management of the ward by delivering comprehensive patient care and overseeing the care provided by junior caregivers. You will deputise for and assist the Nursing Unit Manager in their leadership responsibilities.
This position is based within our Surgical Ward, which provides a broad range of services. Our team supports patients undergoing colorectal procedures – including endoscopy and colonoscopy – as well as cataract extractions. Certain cardiac and vascular procedures are also performed as day surgery. Additional day‐surgery services include minor orthopaedic operations, urological procedures, and general surgical interventions such as hernia repairs.
The Position
* In the absence of the Nursing Unit Manager, the ANUM assumes responsibilities for the utilisation of personnel and management of unit in collaboration with After Hours Manager.
* Assists and facilitates the effective communication of the Unit.
* Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in collection of audits, statistics, caregiver performance management and productivity analysis data.
* Monitors staff levels against budget/target levels related to number of bed days, occupancy and patient acuity. Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and/or After‐Hours Manager according to changes in levels.
* Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
* Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
* You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife and demonstrate ability to develop and build effective nursing, medical and interdisciplinary relationships and teams.
* To succeed you will have knowledge and skills of the principles of infection management and commitment to on‐going education and self‐directed learning.

* Salary $115,908 to $119,811 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
* Permanent part time role, working up to 60.8 hours a fortnight
