Solid Waste Supervisor Role
Veolia Australia and New Zealand is seeking a solid waste supervisor to join their team in Devonport. In this role, you will oversee vehicle scheduling, logistics support, facility operations, and coordinate controlled waste/quarantine collections while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and performance standards.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the logistics team, supervise daily operations, allocate tasks and drivers efficiently, conduct performance reviews, and troubleshoot operational issues while ensuring timely completion of tasks
* Coordinate training and inductions, ensure new drivers are properly trained and documented, facilitate monthly safety meetings, and maintain driver certifications
* Manage quarantine and controlled waste operations including collections, disposal documentation, compliance audits, customer liaison, sampling coordination, and disposal applications
* Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety, quality, and environmental requirements per company policy, report unsafe conditions
Requirements:
* TAS Drivers Licence
* Previous relevant industry experience
* Proven ability to work in a team environment
* Strong time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Ability to work unsupervised
