Our client, a large Federal Government Organisation, whose focus is on foreign signals intelligence, military operations, cyber warfare and information security, are Seeking the experience of a Junior Network Engineer for a long 18+12+12 month contract, based in ACT, QLD, VIC or WA.
Duties of the Junior Network Engineer
* Contribute to the design and implementation of maintenance and installation work and implements agreed network changes and maintenance routines.
* Administer and maintain specific security procedures as required by organisation policy to maintain confidentiality, resilience, integrity and availability of networked systems and devices.
* Understand and apply knowledge of the current industry accepted hardware and software products relevant to ICT network engineering.
* Understand and apply knowledge of the capabilities of current industry data, voice and audio networking devices and procedures.
* Investigate and resolve network problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
* Design and recommend solutions to issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required
* Undertaking or holding a Diploma of Information Technology or similar.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a network engineer role or similar.
* Basic understanding of network fundamentals, such as protocols, architectures, devices, topologies and standards.
* Ability to design and implement network solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
* Basic knowledge and experience of network security.
* Proficiency in network automation.
