**The Role**
- Lead the development of the strategic plan/framework for the organisation and the current operating plan in accordance with the direction set by the Directors.
- Formalise and lead the strategic planning process, focusing on short, medium and long term trends and outlook, and collating and assessing competitive intelligence
- Facilitate the execution of strategy by working collaboratively with the senior leaders ensuring that the strategy is communicated and understood by all employees.
- Lead the business, formulating strategies to grow profitable local markets.
- Ensure that appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance and progress towards strategic goals.
- Drive team accountability by managing the opportunity pipeline and review process, sales function, production function and performance tracking and reporting.
- Ensure opportunities serve company strategy, accounting for risk appropriately, monitoring competitive developments, identify KPIs and estimating financial impacts.
- Engage with external business and industry experts, to monitor opportunities and risks in the industry.
- Develops ongoing and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal controls and the timely development of strategic planning.
- Leads the investigation into due diligence on new business, product or technology opportunities.
- Foster and promote a culture of workplace safety, quality, and positive employee engagement to facilitate compliance with company policies, applicable legislation and to maximise employee efforts and outcomes.
**Your Profile**
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Agriculture or a related area or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years experience in a business development role within fresh produce or a related industry
- A strong strategy orientation who has had experience previously in operational rolls in fast paced environments. Experience should include success in a period of growth and customer focus.
- Excellent communication and business negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership skills to effectively manage the performance and engagement of a culturally diverse workforce.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external partners, suppliers and customers.
- Highly developed analytical skills with an ability to compile reports and undertake an analysis of data for presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion ethical business practices.
