We are looking for a
Senior Legal Counsel – Projects & Energy
to join our growing ANZ business, based in Brisbane. This is a senior; hands-on role suited to an experienced energy or major projects lawyer who enjoys being closely embedded in the business and directly supporting complex renewable energy projects.
You'll play a critical role in enabling the successful delivery of INTEC's EPC and O&M projects across Australia and New Zealand, providing commercially focused legal advice across the full project lifecycle. As the business continues to grow, this role offers the opportunity to shape legal frameworks, strengthen risk management practices, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
What You'll Do
* Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex EPC, O&M, LTSA, supply, subcontract and technology agreements supporting utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
* Provide hands-on legal support across the full project lifecycle — from bid and tender, through contract award, construction, commissioning and ongoing operations.
* Partner closely with commercial, engineering, procurement and project delivery teams to structure bankable contracts and manage legal and commercial risk.
* Advise on risk allocation, liability regimes, securities, performance guarantees, claims, variations and dispute mitigation strategies aligned to EPC and service-based delivery models.
* Support regulatory compliance and engagement with key regulators, advising on energy, construction, environmental, safety and corporate legal obligations.
* Represent INTEC in negotiations with clients, counterparties and financiers, and manage external legal counsel to ensure efficient, high-quality outcomes.
What You'll Bring
* Admission as a qualified Australian lawyer, entitled to practise in Australia.
* 8–12+ years' post-qualification experience in energy, infrastructure, construction or major projects law, gained in private practice and/or in-house.
* Strong experience advising on renewable energy project agreements, including EPC, O&M and long-term service arrangements.
* Proven ability to assess, allocate and manage legal and commercial risk in complex project environments.
* Confidence operating autonomously as a senior legal advisor, representing the business without close supervision.
* Experience within, or strong exposure to, EPC, O&M or infrastructure businesses, with familiarity with Queensland projects, NEM frameworks or project finance requirements will be highly regarded.
