ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT & PAYROLL OFFICER

* No two days the same
* Experienced Accounts Assistant & Payroll Officer required

Finexia Financial Group Limited (ASX:FNX) is an independent financial services firm, specialising in private credit, funds management and advisory. Finexia was listed on the ASX in 2015 and has offices in Sydney and Surfers Paradise.

As a result of structural changes within the Group, we now seek to add an Accounts Assistant & Payroll Officer to our Gold Coast office located in Surfers Paradise.

What you will do

In this dynamic position, your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing the efficiency of our accounting operations for our financial services group, as well as payroll for both the financial services and special purpose divisions.

Reporting to the Group CFO, your role will primarily involve offering comprehensive support to our accounting team, comprised of both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Accounts Assistant:
o General role-related correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
o All Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
o Monthly bank account and credit card reconciliations.
o Intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
o Loan book reconciliations with accounting systems.
o Uploading ABA files to online banking.
o Assistance with half-yearly audits as required.
o Assist CFO with management report collation.
* Payroll Officer:
o Correspondence with employees for payroll enquiries.
o Process payroll for both the financial services (monthly / 15 staff members) and special purpose (fortnightly / 150+ staff) divisions.
o Ensure payroll compliance with relevant awards.
o Superannuation payments.
o Payroll tax lodgements.
o Assist with employee onboarding.
o Assist with staff file maintenance.
o Report to management.
* Documentation and Record Keeping:
o Maintain meticulous records across accounts and payroll.
* Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay informed of the latest regulations, guaranteeing all tasks are executed in accordance with pertinent industry standards and legal directives.

Requirements

* Previous experience in both bookkeeping and complex payroll processing.
* Experience with Xero and Employment Hero is desirable, but not mandatory.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Exceptional organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
* High level of integrity with the ability to safeguard private and confidential information.
