About the Role:
The Demand and Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring the optimal balance between supply and demand, minimizing costs while maximizing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in driving accurate forecasting, effective inventory management, and timely product availability through collaboration with sales, marketing, procurement, and production teams.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Lonsdale factory.
Key responsibilities include:
Demand Planning:
* Develop, maintain, and improve demand forecasts using statistical models and market intelligence.
* Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance departments to incorporate promotional plans, customer insights, and market trends into forecasts.
* Analyze historical sales data and identify key demand drivers and seasonal patterns.
* Review forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement plans.
Supply Planning:
* Translate demand forecasts into detailed supply and production plans.
* Ensure consistent availability of products while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
* Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing to align supply with forecasted demand.
* Monitor capacity constraints and recommend adjustments to production or sourcing plans.
Inventory Management:
* Optimize inventory levels across the supply chain to balance service levels with working capital goals.
* Manage replenishment strategies and monitor slow-moving or obsolete stock.
* Lead monthly inventory reconciliation and performance reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Serve as the main point of contact between sales, production, procurement, and logistics teams for planning activities.
* Lead the Demand planning aspect of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
* Support new product launches and manage phase-in/phase-out planning.
Reporting and Analysis:
* Generate regular planning reports (forecast accuracy, inventory health, service levels).
* Use data analytics to identify risks and opportunities within the supply chain.
* Develop KPIs and dashboards to track planning performance and recommend process improvements.
What you'll need to be successful:
* Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, logistics, economics, or related field.
* 3–5 years of experience in demand and/or supply planning within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
* Experience with demand planning tools/software (e.g., Kinaxis, Anaplan, OMP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Ability to work cross-functionally and drive collaboration.
