About the Role
The Service Desk Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality IT support services for both students and staff at Canberra Grammar School, with a strong emphasis on the effective use of educational technologies.
This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Service Desk, including incident, request, and knowledge management, to ensure the timely, consistent, and effective resolution of technical issues.
The Service Desk Lead also ensures that technology operations are safe, secure, and compliant, maintains agreed service standards, and works collaboratively with IT and academic teams to enhance the overall user experience and support the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning.
About You
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following capabilities:
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with Canberra Grammar School team members across a diverse organisational environment.
* Demonstrated capability to implement initiatives and support project delivery and change management processes.
* Sound working knowledge of office productivity and communication software.
* Demonstrated experience supporting both Windows and Apple environments, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and Microsoft 365.
* Exemplary documentation practices, including the ability to develop and maintain clear, structured content within a Wiki or knowledge-base environment.
* Extensive experience working with issue-tracking or service-management systems.
* Experience configuring switches and troubleshooting network-related issues.
* A willingness and capacity to broaden professional skills through the adoption of new technologies and tools, supported by both formal and informal learning.
* A positive, flexible approach to working in a varied and dynamic environment.
* High levels of initiative and proactivity, with the ability to identify issues and act decisively.
* Well-developed time management and task prioritisation skills, including the ability to switch efficiently between competing demands.
* Demonstrated ability to document business processes in a clear, simple, auditable, and well-structured manner.
* Exemplary customer service skills across all modes of delivery, including face-to-face, verbal, and written communication.
* Experience in monitoring workloads and supporting the effective allocation of tasks within a team environment.
* Ability to plan for and adapt to changes in systems, processes, and technologies.
* Capability to lead informal daily meetings to track workflow, priorities, and progress.
* Demonstrated ability to track, manage, and resolve issues using electronic systems, taking ownership of outcomes.
* An understanding of, or demonstrated ability to work effectively within, an education context.

* Excellent written English and highly effective interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong technological literacy across a broad range of applications and platforms.
* A relevant tertiary degree or qualification
* A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
* A current National Police Check; and
* Full working rights within Australia
