The Role
As the Mechanical Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all estimating activities, from tender review through to submission. You will oversee a small team of estimators, ensure accuracy in costings, and provide strategic input into bids for mechanical construction and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate mechanical estimates
- Manage tender submissions and ensure deadlines are met
- Review and analyse drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
- Provide input on risk, value engineering, and project strategy
- Mentor and develop junior estimators within the team
About You
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator or Estimating Manager
- Solid background in mechanical construction, industrial, or resources projects
- Excellent knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities
- Mechanical trade or engineering qualifications (desirable)
