Therapeutic Services Program Overview
The Child Trauma Service provides high-quality counselling and support to children, young people, and families affected by family violence, sexual abuse, and/or harmful sexual behaviours.
This program focuses on supporting key relationships and systems around the child, fostering a healing environment. The goal is to provide direct therapeutic support and intervention to understand, respond to, and support children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours and experienced sexual assault.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct therapeutic support and intervention to children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours and experienced sexual assault
* Work closely with professionals and carers to develop trauma-informed therapeutic approaches to support children and young people
* Contribute to the development of the Therapeutic Services program, ensuring alignment with best practices and evidence-based interventions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field
* Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and its application in a therapeutic setting
* Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for working with children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours
