Primary objective

Provide high level financial and accounting management services including the coordination of consultant procurement contracts

with management oversight for all business operational support and administrative matters.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Manage the Authority's financial and management accounting services including end of month and year requirements,

development and monitoring of the budget, annual audit program and assist in the development of the Financial Statements.

2. Supervise a small team in providing timely and client focused financial and corporate services functions and fostering a

positive and supportive workplace culture.

1. Manage the Authority Board corporate services functions, including financial payments, reconciliations and audit process.
2. Manage the logistical coordination of consultant contracts including procurement requirements in line with legislation and

government policy, coordination of travel requirements and ensuring compliance with contract deliverables.

1. Develop, review and update policies and procedures relating to the corporate services functions to ensure compliance with

a wide range of legislation and whole of government policies to support strong business continuity processes.

6. Assist the Business Manager, in the provision of high-quality corporate services including strategic human resource

management, financial and procurement management, fleet, travel and asset management as well as undertaking a range of

projects as directed.

1. Provide professional advice and guidance to Authority staff, consultants and custodians on processes to ensure compliance

and a high standard of service is provided.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Strong technical experience in financial and management accounting services with a clear understanding of public sector

financial management frameworks or similar and application of Australian Accounting Standards and other legislation.

2. Proven experience in delivering and managing the corporate services functions with a high customer service focus.

3. Demonstrated experience in supervising a small team.

4. Superior oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise, collaborate and negotiate effectively at all

levels, with various stakeholders and to communicate financial and business issues in plain language.

5. Substantial experience in the use of financial systems and databases, and advanced ability to use electronic spreadsheets to

perform financial analysis and prepare reports.

6. High level organisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines within tight time constraints, and

to adapt to changing priorities in a busy work environment.

1. Hold a current manual NT Driver's License.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or business, or working towards.

2. Knowledge of the NT Government specific finance related systems, including the Government Accounting System and BOXI

Reporting.
