A 2 years fixed-term opportunity is available for a teaching position on St Helena Island, a self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. The island has four schools, with one secondary and three primary schools.
The successful candidate will teach English across the age range of 11 – 18 at Prince Andrew Secondary School, planning, preparing and delivering schemes of work to develop student performance. They must also monitor and assess student performance and support teachers in this specialist subject.
The ideal candidate will hold a UK teaching qualification and QTS, a degree level qualification in English supported by experience of teaching English at key stages 3, 4 and 5 with specific experience in literacy improvement at any level. They will have knowledge of GCSE and A level courses available for English and the Secondary Curriculum within the UK relevant to English.
Additionally, they must demonstrate core values of fairness, integrity and teamwork and use their expertise to contribute to workforce, community and capacity development in St Helena.
