Description
DP World Brisbane is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team based in Fisherman Island. With further expansion projects upcoming as well as sustaining capital projects through 2026 and 2027 this newly created role contributes to our continuous growth and forward planning for our DP World Brisbane terminal projects. In this role you will support the Projects Superintendent in delivering key infrastructure projects as part of capacity expansion initiatives, focusing on project planning, execution, control, and coordination of engineering and construction activities whilst ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
This is an 18-month contract for a full-time position.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop and maintain project schedules using appropriate planning tools.
* Prepare business case proposals and draft project details.
* Support the preparation of project scopes, execution plans, and schedules.
* Monitor and track project progress, identifying risks and deviations.
* Assist in tender preparation, evaluation, and procurement processes.
* Maintain accurate project documentation (status reports, change registers, meeting minutes).
* Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants.
* Provide engineering input during design reviews and construction planning.
* Conduct technical assessments and constructability reviews.
* Support commissioning planning and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* Liaise with site teams, consultants, and vendors to ensure project alignment.
* Assist the Project Manager with stakeholder reporting and presentations.
* Promote proactive safety behaviours
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Degree or Diploma in Engineering preferred (Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
* 5–10 years of experience in project engineering roles within mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry.
* Proven experience in construction or engineering projects.
* Proficiency in scheduling tools like MS Project.
* Familiarity with document control systems (SharePoint).
* Strong understanding of tendering, procurement, and contractor management.
* Knowledge of construction and commissioning processes.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage smaller packages/projects autonomously.
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
