What's the job?
As a Business Development Manager, you will drive and execute sales strategies, manage key accounts and identify new business opportunities with a focus on Groups, Conferencing and Events. The role involves building strong client relationships, targeting new and existing accounts and strategically sourcing and converting opportunities.
Your day‐to‐day
* Develop and convert new business while maintaining existing accounts.
* Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, corporate accounts and partners.
* In conjunction with the Director of Sales, optimise hotel revenue through up‐selling, yield management and strategic pricing.
* Represent the hotel at industry and trade events to enhance visibility and drive ROI.
* Manage sales pipelines, execute sales plans and track progress against targets.
* Leverage market insights, competitor analysis and IHG systems to inform strategies.
* Support corporate account acquisition through RFP management and proactive engagement.
* Drive innovative initiatives, client events and familiarisation to generate revenue.
What we need from you
* Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
* Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business or Hospitality Management, or equivalent.
* Formal Sales Management training and at least two years' sales experience in Australasia with proven results.
* Knowledge of hotel systems (Delphi, Opera, IHG Concerto, Lighthouse) and revenue management principles.
* Strong understanding of sales strategies, key account management and new business development.
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders, including senior management.
* Excellent presentation, commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and drive results.
* Flexible, proactive and committed to IHG policies and high performance standards.
