Overview
Join the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as an Associate Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. This position is intended to cover the responsibilities of an academic staff member who has been seconded to another role for the duration of that appointment.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will undertake high-quality teaching and research in construction management, with a particular emphasis on digital technologies, data sciences, and IoT – covering areas such as BIM, smart infrastructure, and data-driven decision-support. This is an opportunity to join a leader in construction management, driving innovation in sustainable infrastructure, digital construction technologies, and integrated project delivery methods. The role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
What you will be doing
* Teach and develop courses related to construction management, with focus areas including BIM, digital technologies, data sciences, IoT, smart infrastructure, and data-driven decision-support.
* Engage in high-quality research and contribute to the School's research objectives with limited supervision.
* Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and contribute to curriculum development and assessment.
Qualifications
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Demonstrated experience in and passion for teaching and learning design, development and/or delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Knowledge of educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Experience engaging students and fostering independent learning through meaningful assessment and helpful feedback.
* Evidence of professional development in teaching practice.
* Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
* Publication and conference presentation track record relative to opportunity.
* Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
* Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with UNSW's aims, objectives, and values.
* Commitment to health and safety responsibilities and training.

* Level A, Salary - $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full-time
* Fixed-term contract – ASAP start until August 2028
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
