Job Description
The Port Moody Fire-Rescue department is looking for a dedicated individual to oversee the emergency planning and program implementation activities for the City of Port Moody. This is a temporary, full-time position anticipated to be of approximately two years' duration.
The Emergency Management Program Coordinator will report to the Deputy Chief of Administration and Community Safety. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining action/response plans for all types of anticipated emergencies, planning, developing, participating in and evaluating simulated emergency preparedness exercises, creating emergency planning public information programs, presentations and displays, and liaising with emergency planning external contacts. This position will also prepare emergency measures budget and funding grant applications.
Basic Qualifications: A minimum of three (3) years of related experience plus post-secondary certification in Emergency Planning and Management courses Proficiency in MS Office and desktop publishing Knowledge of emergency program planning as well as the BC Provincial Emergency Disaster Management Act Experience planning, coordinating and evaluating emergency response exercises Experience with developing and monitoring budgets Knowledge of the municipal operations and Fire-Rescue policies and procedures Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential A valid Class 5 driver's licence
