About the Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Butcher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hands-on butchery experience, good knife skills, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cut, trim, and portion a wide range of meat products including beef, lamb and pork
* Use knives, saws, and mincing equipment safely and efficiently
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the preparation and display areas in accordance with food safety standards
* Serve customers and provide advice on meat cuts and cooking methods
* Weigh, package, label, and price meat for retail sale
* Receive and inspect meat deliveries to ensure quality and freshness
* Assist with stock rotation and inventory control
* Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a butcher
* Proficient knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
* Good communication and customer service skills
