About the role
Valley Steel & Fencing is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our close-knit team in Gatton, Queensland. This full-time role will involve a combination of customer service and advice, allowing you to showcase your skills. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping our customers choose the correct products to build a steel shed, carport or construct a fence.
Your role will also involve selling a variety of steel, roofing, fencing, posts, hardware, tools & welding requirements and cattle equipment to both rural, hobby farmers and DIY customers.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting customers in our showroom, understanding their requirements and guiding them in the required materials
* Providing excellent customer service and ensuring each customer's needs are met
* Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
* Collaborating with the wider team to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of orders and customer deliveries.
What we're looking for
* Experience with shed or similar steel frame constructions (Preferred but not essential)
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen and understand customer needs
* Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to adapt to a busy retail environment
* A valid driver's license essential (forklift license advantageous)
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
