Port Phillip Estate is one of Victoria's iconic food and wine destinations, with hospitality operations that include an iconic cellar door, a fine-dining 'one-hat' restaurant, casual dining in the cellar door, and boutique luxury accommodation.

Located in the picturesque Red Hill region of the Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong and Port Phillip Estate is a boutique family-owned wine business that produces exceptional cool-climate Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Our wines reflect the unique terroir of our three vineyard sites, and we pride ourselves on crafting wines of elegance, balance, and finesse.

Your Role


As Cellar Door Manager, you will lead our small, dedicated cellar door team and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Cellar Door and for achieving established key performance measures relating to customer service and satisfaction, cost control, and staff morale.

You will be a key ambassador for our wine business – welcoming visitors, providing memorable, compelling and educational tastings and experiences for guests, and driving direct-to-consumer sales. You will have a key voice in shaping our guest experiences and play a pivotal role in increasing our wine club membership.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage the day-to-day operations of the cellar door, ensuring a polished and seamless guest experience and increasing direct-to-consumer sales
* Ensure attention to detail and efficiency across all cellar door operations
* Conduct engaging and educational wine tastings, sharing our story
* Train, inspire and lead a small team with a focus on hospitality and sales excellence
* Drive wine sales, wine club memberships, and customer engagement
* Coordinate private tastings, on-site events, and seasonal promotions
* Collaborate with marketing and winemaking teams to ensure alignment on wine releases, seasonal promotions, club promotions, and customer engagement
* Manage bookings and POS systems
* Manage inventory and stock control
* Maintain the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness, and manage the hygiene, sanitation and safety of the cellar door


What We're Looking For

* Demonstrated wine retail experience, ideally in a management role
* A confident, warm communicator with a flair for storytelling
* A customer-first mindset and sales-driven approach, particularly in a premium wine environment
* Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
* A passion for cool-climate wines, particularly Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir
* Experience with point-of-sale and reservation systems (BePoz and SevenRooms preferably), EFTPOS, and online payment gateway systems
* Competent MS Office skills
* Availability on weekends and during peak seasons
* A current RSA

The position is permanent full-time, working days include Saturday and Sunday.
