Base Salary HEO9 $146,197 - $154,260 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Faculty of Engineering is welcoming applications for Manager, Education Innovation and Design. We are seeking an outcomes-driven Manager with strong people leadership and a clear service focus. This role leads a high-performing team to deliver consistent, meaningful, high-quality and impactful work in a complex academic environment. You will lead through collaboration, working closely with academic leaders and professional staff to understand needs, solve problems, and improve quality, consistency, and the student experience, with a strong focus on information management, clarity of content, multi-media knowledge and tech-enabled ways of working. The role requires the ability to set clear priorities, drive delivery, and provide confident, effective leadership. As Manager, you will lead Engineering unit reviews, Canvas site design, start to semester tasks and the implementation of teaching and learning materials, ensuring content is clear, student friendly, and fit for purpose. You will combine this with strong leadership to guide the team and stakeholders toward practical, high-impact outcomes. Excellent stakeholder engagement is critical to success in this role, as is the ability to balance strategic thinking with responsive, high-quality service delivery. The Education Design team, embedded within schools, plays a pivotal role in advancing the Faculty’s education agenda. The team partners with academics in schools to deliver hands-on support in contemporary education design, digital capability, and student-centred learning, enabling scalable, high-impact programs across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide strategic leadership and oversight, working closely with the Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching), Head of Education Services and key stakeholders to communicate progress and delivery outcomes Lead the design and delivery of high-quality learning experiences at unit level, overseeing assessment design, ensuring constructive alignment, evidence-based pedagogy and a user-centred approach across the LMS and related tools Drive excellence in standards and practice, ensuring effective use of platforms and compliance with institutional and external requirements Lead complex, multi-stream initiatives, managing scope, ambiguity, timelines, risks, dependencies and governance across faculties and central units Build and lead a high-performing team of educational designers, providing coaching, clear workload direction and ongoing capability development About you The University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Manager Education Innovation and Design who has: excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, paired with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment while managing diverse and concurrent tasks with multiple deadlines during busy periods demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff; as well as experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment experience with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment To keep our community safe, please be aware of our COVID safety precautions which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.
