The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. About the team – The Communications and Media team leads external and internal communications for the ASC to establish our reputation and position as the leading national voice for sport in Australia. We aim to illustrate that sport has a place for everyone and delivers results that make Australia proud. We look after:

* Media relations
* Social media
* Stakeholder communications
* Internal communications
* Content creation
* Crisis communications

About the role – Reporting to the Communications Adviser, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies across social media, internal and external communications to support key programs across the ASC, including the Australian Institute of Sport.

With guidance from the Communications Adviser and other members of the communications and media team, you will help deliver the ASC’s strategic communications objectives and achieve positive outcomes for the ASC. This includes:

* Develop and execute social media strategies to achieve objectives against the organisation’s key strategic
* Play a key role in idea generation and content creation that tells the stories of sport in a unique and engaging manner.
* Support the internal communications adviser in developing timely and engaging content for ASC.
* Writing and coordinating of communications on key platforms including the ASC Intranet (SharePoint) and Microsoft Teams.
* Capturing content that demonstrates the important role the AIS Site and ASC programs has in Australian sport.
* Posting of social media content in a conversational and engaging manner that helps grow the organisation’s
* Monitoring of social media platforms and engaging with key stakeholders and other users as required.
* Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders across the organisation, particularly in the Marketing and Ministerial and Government teams.
* Support with administrative tasks to enable the Communications and Media team to deliver strategic objectives and key events.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with key external stakeholders including National Sporting Organisations, media outlets and social media content creators.



About you – We are looking for a motivated individual who can work across a range of projects within a creative and dynamic communications team. The successful candidate will have:

* Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a combination of social media, external media relations and internal communications.
* Greater than 2-3 years’ relevant
* Experience with social media management, content creation, writing, EDMs and web publishing and stakeholder management is highly
* Demonstrated record of achieving high personal and team performance objectives.


This position is offered as a FIXED TERM position until 26 March 2027 with the possibility of being extended or made ongoing.

Eligibility

* To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
