Successful candidates will undergo a combination of on-the-job training with an employer of their choice to achieve a Certificate III in Individual Support qualification.You will be assigned a dedicated work supervisor and a Charter Australia qualified trainer throughout your traineeship to assist and support your success.As an AIN, you will positively impact the lives of older people with a compassionate and supportive approach;Assist clients with personal care needs such as showering, dressing, and eating.Assist clients with mobility and communication needs.Participate in planning the care of individualsFollow therapy plans, including interventions for dementia and behavioral issues.Observe and report changes in clients' conditions and report any complaints about care.Assist with rehabilitation exercises, basic treatments, and medication delivery.Provide direct support to therapistsWork Locations: Multiple locations across Sydney metropolitan area.
You can select preferred locations via the application page.RequirementsEligibility for the Traineeship Pilot Program - Asylum SeekersCandidates must meet Smart & Skilled eligibility and other general entry requirements to ensure the best opportunity for meeting employer expectations and securing full-time employment.Candidates holding a Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate IV in Ageing Support are not eligible.Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and carrying small equipment and operating equipment to assist with mobility.Candidates should have evidence of an Australian police check or an equivalent prior to starting training.Vaccination against COVID (minimum 3 doses) is required before employment; some employers may also require influenza vaccination.Additional Requirements:Must have a Tax File Number for employment.Sufficient spoken English to communicate with educators, employers, and residents.Sufficient reading and numeracy skills (equivalent to Year 10 Australian level or Certificate III in Australia).Commitment to ongoing learning and ability to work effectively in a team.ResumeWorking with Children CheckEarn while you learn at your own pace to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support with Charter Australia.Opportunities for career progression after qualification.Mentorship and support from trainers and coordinators working closely with the SSI team to guide trainees throughout their journey.
