An exciting prospect exists for an experienced Senior Water Treatment Lead to oversee the operation, optimisation, and compliance of multiple water treatment plants. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, and operational excellence to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable water supply for the community.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager of Water Treatment and Quality, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing water treatment team.
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations, maintenance, and performance optimisation.
- Ensure compliance with drinking water quality, environmental, and safety standards.
- Manage operational budgets (approx. $10M) and contribute to medium- and long-term asset planning.
- Provide technical advice and solutions for complex operational challenges.
- Participate in after-hours response and emergency management to ensure continuity of supply.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking a motivated professional with:
- A degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline or significant demonstrated experience in water treatment operations.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and operational planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence.
