The role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a kitchen assistant to join our Catering team located in our Melbourne office on a full time basis.
Flexibility in hours will be required from time to time (after hours functions – breakfasts and dinners).
Working with the Executive Chef, in this role you will utilize your passion for food to produce a variety of food options (formal and informal) for our staff and corporate clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation of food for :Client functions and events;Staff events, including morning and afternoon teas;Working lunches; andOur on-site café.
- Dishwashing and ensuring timely clean up of equipment.
- Ensure food preparation areas and associated equipment meet appropriate standards of cleanliness.
- Comply with all Melbourne City Council health requirements.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant food safety qualifications and min 2 years full time experience in a kitchen
- Experience in corporate kitchens would be highly regarded;
- Passion for producing high quality food;
- Strong work ethic and an ability to remain calm under pressure;
- Excellent team work skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Unwavering adherence to and enforcement of health and hygiene standards; and
