Flowerdale Estate is a premier destination for events, fine dining, and memorable guest experiences. With 36 onsite guest accommodation rooms, we host leisure guests, overnight stays, weddings, and corporate groups. We are a small, busy team that produces great outcomes and loves creating wonderful memories for our guests. Residing within the Estate's historic homestead, Gracie's Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner alongside our wedding and conferencing events.
The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on a rotating roster. **This role begins as casual, with the opportunity to move into a full-time position for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will have a genuine love of the industry and enjoy inspiring others to achieve. This role is very much hands-on, requiring attention to detail and a positive work attitude.
Onsite accommodation may be available as required.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Food preparation and cooking to order during a la carte restaurant service and functions
* Assisting with staff training and mentoring
* Assisting in menu design, implementation, and costing of both food and labour
* Assisting in stock control and monitoring wastage
* HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene
* Ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment
It is essential that applicants possess a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) and have at least 3–5 years' experience in commercial kitchens post-qualification.
