About Jumbunna
Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research (Jumbunna) at UTS assists the University to contribute effectively to Australia's educational and social development by making UTS staff and students aware of Indigenous Australian cultures and associated issues. It is committed to improving the quality of teaching and research at UTS by facilitating active links with the Indigenous community, higher education institutions, and other professions with particular emphasis on Australia's growth as a multi-cultural nation.
About the role
The Indigenous Outreach Manager will lead the Jumbunna outreach and schools' engagement programming including the development and ongoing operation of the Indigenous Leadership Program, Galuwa on-campus experiences and aspects of the Academy operated by the Centre of Social Justice and Inclusion. The role will also lead the Indigenous outreach team to develop a suite of aspiration building programs to enhance the on-campus experiences. The position is responsible for effective promotion of the University through the development of strong relationships with key stakeholders including prospective undergraduates (school leavers, non-school leavers) and postgraduate students. It ensures effective promotion of the University through development of strong and positive relationships with schools, business, industry and the community generally and maintains ongoing linkage of the University with communities.
About You
As the Indigenous Outreach Manager, you will:
• Develop, implement and review Indigenous outreach projects and programs, including schools outreach, teacher professional development and access programs by utilising project management skills such as project planning, stakeholder analysis and liaison, budgeting, reporting and evaluation.
• Establish and maintain effective systems to support the implementation of Indigenous Schools Outreach programs.
• Maintain ongoing liaison with faculties and the UTS Marketing & Communications Unit in relation to developing a professional and integrated approach to UTS Schools Outreach.
• Liaise with high school principals and other relevant school staff; the Department of Education; industry, community groups and UTS stakeholders to develop appropriate programs, publications and resources to achieve WPS objectives.
• Report on projects and programs, undertaking data analysis and monitoring and evaluation, as required.

• Demonstrated experience in working with Indigenous groups to promote education and careers pathways.
• High level ability to lead and manage projects, set priorities, and manage time, budgets and resources effectively.
• High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse range of people in a respectful and culturally appropriate and informed manner.
• Strong commitment to and demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous values and practices, with an understanding of issues in school, community and higher education sectors.

Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $140,965 to $147,678 pa (HEW 9)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time, and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
