About The Opportunity The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the operations of multiple macadamia orchards in the Bundaberg region, ensuring optimal orchard performance, effective team leadership, and the achievement of yield and sustainability targets.
Reporting directly to the General Manager/Managing Director, your responsibilities will include:
Managing budgets, equipment, labour, and resource allocation efficiently. Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, and food safety standards. Reporting on orchard performance and recommending strategic improvements. Driving orchard performance through crop planning, forecasting, and innovation. Leading, mentoring, and managing orchard staff and contractors to ensure productivity and safety. Planning, coordinating, and overseeing orchard activities including irrigation, fertilisation, pest & disease management, and harvesting. About You The successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities. A current driver's licence and the ability to manage multiple sites. Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, soil health, and pest management. Understanding of WHS, environmental, and food safety compliance requirements. A tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or related fields (preferred). Proven experience in orchard or agricultural operations management, ideally within tree crops or nuts. What's in it for You?
