Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Sonographer, your key duties are to provide high-quality diagnostic medical imaging services, including:
* Participate in the shift and on-call roster.
* Supervise and educate students and less experienced staff.
* Perform administrative duties for imaging procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and transfer of images to PACS.
* Collaborate with the Chief Sonographer to provide leadership, supervision and mentorship to junior sonographers, ensuring adherence to standard work practices.
* Contribute to clinical activity, perform patient registrations and participate in team shift and on-call rosters.
* Undertake relief duties at other hospital and medical imaging sites and travel to regional communities for outreach services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Medical Ultrasound qualification conferring eligibility for registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registration (ASAR).
* Demonstrated experience in general, obstetrics/gynaecology, vascular and musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of all facets of Sonography / Medical Imaging.
* Tertiary qualifications in Medical Radiation Science and high-level experience in radiography are encouraged.
