Position Information
At Strathfield South High School, we pursue excellence and equity through a commitment to every student meeting and exceeding their potential. This is achieved by setting high expectations for both students and staff, and employing innovative and differentiated curriculum structures. Our inclusive and diverse community comprises approximately 600 students, 80% of whom are from a non‐English speaking background, with a large Support Unit for students with Autism and hearing support. We celebrate diversity and work collaboratively with the community to foster a deep understanding and empathy for all cultural backgrounds.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities and complex challenging behaviours, with a strong commitment to inclusive education.
* Evidence of exemplary programming and planning to integrate students' Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLSP) goals.
* Demonstrated classroom management skills and capacity to enhance student engagement and participation through planned and evaluated PLSPs that respond to the social, emotional, behavioural, and communication needs of all students.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that contribute to a culture of inclusivity through proactive collaboration with students, colleagues, parents/carers, school learning support officers, external agencies and the wider community.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (conditions apply). The bonus will be paid on a pro‐rata basis for permanent part‐time teachers and executive staff. An unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval with the NSW Department of Education, you must commence the application process simultaneously with this application.

Applicants seeking either permanent full‐time or permanent part‐time employment are encouraged to apply. If the selected candidate seeks permanent part‐time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Please include your WWCC clearance number in your application.
