Job Overview
Senior Developer – oversee software development projects, write optimisation code, and provide technical leadership for a team of software engineers. Responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Design, develop, configure and maintain customer correspondence solutions using OpenText Exstream.
* Translate business and legislative requirements into structured document designs.
* Develop and maintain reusable components, scripts and rules.
* Integrate document solutions with enterprise systems and output services.
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data, formatting and performance.
* Support testing activities including unit, system and user acceptance testing.
* Contribute to release management and deployment activities.
* Maintain technical documentation and design artefacts.
* Ensure compliance with APS security, privacy and accessibility requirements.
* Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.
* Development, support and maintenance of M204 social security systems on the IBM z/OS environment.
Technical Skills
* Programming languages: JCL, Visual Basic, Java, .NET and M204 User Language.
* Proficiency in OpenText Exstream software, document generation, templates and variable data.
* 3–5 years experience developing social security benefit systems in the IBM z/OS mainframe environment using DIR1 and FANGIO tools.

Essential Criteria
* Methods and tools – Level 4 (SFIA). Provide advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools.
* Programming/software development – Level 4 (SFIA). Design, code, verify, test and document complex programmes/scripts.
* Release and deployment – Level 4 (SFIA). Assess and analyse release components and maintain release processes.
* Software configuration – Level 4 (SFIA). Design, verify, document, and refactor complex software configurations.
* Software design – Level 3 (SFIA). Undertake design of moderately complex software applications or components.
* Systems design – Level 4 (SFIA). Design system components using modelling techniques and produce detailed design specifications.
* Systems integration and build – Level 4 (SFIA). Configure system components and develop integration plans.
* Testing – Level 3 (SFIA). Design test cases and manage test activities.
Desirable Criteria
* Application support – Level 3 (SFIA). Identify and resolve application issues and maintain performance statistics.
Working Arrangements
* Hybrid model – full‐time onsite for the first six weeks; thereafter minimum three days per week onsite with the possibility to work from home.
* Maximum hours: 40 hours per week.
