Job Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and skilled individuals to join our fire management team in North Queensland and Central Queensland.
This is a challenging outdoor role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety.
Crew members may be deployed locally or across the state depending on operational needs. Willingness to perform extended living away from home rosters, up to 2 weeks duration is required.
Responsibilities:
* Executing fire preparation, mitigation works, and hazard reduction activities
* Operating and maintaining firefighting equipment and vehicles
* Supporting fire response operations, including frontline firefighting duties when required
* Performing vegetation management tasks such as weed control and clearing drains
* Assisting with inspections and reporting on fire readiness activities
* Maintaining high standards of safety for yourself, your crew, and the community
Key Requirements:
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and complete tasks independently
* High level of physical fitness and comfort working outdoors in hot, remote, and rugged conditions
* Current manual Driver's Licence (essential)
* Prior experience in firefighting, rural fire brigade, vegetation, or land management (desirable)
* Tickets for chainsaw, chemical application, or 4WD operations (desirable)
Additional Criteria:
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
* Availability to work on a roster including weekends, public holidays, and call-outs during fire danger periods
* Commitment to completing mandatory training prior to deployment
