The Opportunity: We are seeking a proactive and dedicated
Group Financial Accountant
to join our high‑performing finance team in Doncaster. Reporting to senior executives (EGM Finance and Group Financial Controller), you will play a pivotal role in the day‑to‑day management of the accounting function. This is a "hands‑on" leadership role where you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, mentor staff, and ensure the overall financial health of the Group and its various Business Units.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
Lead internal financial reporting for Group Shared Services cost centres, including budget, reforecasts, monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
Group Responsibilities:
Treasury including Bank Guarantees, Cashflow Forecasting and Capex
Property Leases and AASB16
Group Insurances (PL / D&O / Contract Works / ISR / Motor Vehicle Fleet)
State Payroll Tax
State Workcover (incl LPR in NSW)
Property, Plant and Equipment
Borrowings, interest and repayments
Subsidiary equity reporting including changes, dividend calculations and payments
Motor Vehicle Fleet
Normalisations
Other ad‑hoc tasks as directed by the Group GM of Finance and the Group Financial Controller
Process Improvement:
Undertake periodic systems and control reviews to recommend changes that effect optimal commercial outcomes.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a high level of drive, energy, and the ability to think outside the box.
Qualifications & Experience
CA/CPA Qualification (Mandatory).
Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in a senior financial role, ideally within the building and construction industry.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and a high level of computer literacy with excellent financial analysis and modelling knowledge; experience with industry‑specific technology is preferred.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Mindset: A proactive "can‑do" attitude, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
