This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. We will count on you to: Lead and coordinate Private Market Investment Implementation activities of the Mercer Funds. Take ownership of the private markets implementation pipeline which primarily involves project management and coordination of the private market transaction lifecycle, inclusive of private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure and hedge fund investments. Project manage and monitor all aspects of the end-to-end private market transaction lifecycle. Manage private market portfolio liquidity and currency hedging requirements. Lead the private market investment data collection and validation. Represent investment implementation in the private market governance forums. What you need to have: A degree in an appropriate analytical discipline such as finance, economics, or mathematics; a postgraduate qualification (CFA, CIMA, or a relevant Master’s) is desirable but not necessary. 5-7 years of investment industry experience, with a strong emphasis on derivatives and derivative overlay strategies. Experience in portfolio construction for multi-manager portfolios, including the use of derivatives for risk management and performance enhancement. A solid understanding of various portfolio construction approaches, including passive, active, factor, core, and high conviction.
