You will work closely with senior leadership and key decision‑makers, with the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and strategic direction of the business.
About the Role We are seeking a commercially sharp Head of Merchandise to lead our buying, pricing, and supplier strategy across the group.
This is a high‑impact leadership role responsible for driving sales growth, gross margin, and supplier performance, while ensuring our stores execute a compelling, fresh‑led offer every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading all supplier relationships, negotiations, and trading terms
Owning pricing strategy, promotional planning, and GP% performance
Driving range planning, new product development, and category resets
Delivering rebates, over & above income, and commercial outcomes
Partnering closely with stores to ensure strong execution at store level
Overseeing promotional programs, seasonal activity, and campaigns
Managing private label (Tucker Fresh Selection) development and growth
Providing clear reporting, insights, and commercial direction to leadership
Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Proven experience in supermarket buying or merchandise leadership
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of margin and sales delivery
Skilled negotiator with the ability to build win‑win supplier partnerships
Hands‑on leader who can balance strategy with day‑to‑day execution
Passion for fresh food, retail excellence, and team development
