This global organisation is well-known within the food manufacturing industry and is located in Harvey, WA. They are seeking two laboratory technicians to join their team, one on a permanent full-time basis and the other on a contract role for 6 months.
About the role
As a laboratory technician you will perform timely and accurate preparation and testing of samples and record and communicate the results, to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory and an outstanding level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, your responsibilities may include:
- Foster a customer service mindset that is consistently applied to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct testing in accordance with the established sample plan and standardised test methods.
- Accurately record sample data and test results in SAP.
- Communicate results to internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in daily taste panel evaluations for all products manufactured (sensory evaluation).
- Appropriately release or hold products using the correct documentation and procedures.
- Support production teams in achieving 95%–100% conformance to product specifications.
About you
- A Bachelor of Science (majoring in Food Science, Chemistry or closely related discipline) or Certificate or Diploma in a relevant discipline
- Detailed understanding of HACCP and the ability to perform basic laboratory analysis
- Reliable and good work ethic
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
