About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Finance Officer to join our Finance team in either Hobart or Franklin. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Executive Manager Finance.
This key role is responsible for the end to end delivery of payroll services, accounts payable, and core financial operations including reconciliations, journals, and support for monthly reporting. You will work collaboratively across teams, contribute to systems, and process improvements, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and employment instruments.
What You’ll Do
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing, benefits administration, and reporting
* Process and manage accounts payable, including invoice coding and reconciliation
* Prepare and enter journals, assist with month-end reporting and audits
* Maintain up-to-date employee records and ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, and industrial instruments
* Liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, auditors, and government departments
* Contribute to the improvement of financial and payroll systems and internal controls
About You
You are proactive, accurate, and solutions-focused, with a strong understanding of finance and payroll functions. You enjoy working in a supportive team and have excellent communication and time management skills.
You will bring
* A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related field
* At least 2 years’ experience in a finance role with payroll and AP responsibilities
* Strong working knowledge of payroll and finance systems (e.g. Inerva, Lightyear)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* A Working with Vulnerable People Card (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
* Progression towards or completion of CA or CPA
* Experience interpreting industrial instruments, including the Aged Care Award, SCHADS Award, Nurses Award and Enterprise Agreements
* Experience in the aged care or health sector
