Special Education Teacher for Behavioural Support
Join our vibrant community of educators as a Special Education Teacher to support students with extreme, complex and challenging behaviours. As part of the School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement, you will collaborate with colleagues in professional learning, consultative support and direct/indirect services across K-12 contexts.
This role involves working closely with schools, teachers, parents and carers to identify, develop and implement tailored strategies to enhance student engagement and behaviour. Your expertise in behaviour management, positive behaviour support and classroom management strategies will be essential in this role.
* Job Description:
* Deliver professional learning programs to improve student engagement and behaviour
* Provide consultative support to schools needing assistance with planning for students with very complex needs
* Offer direct and indirect support to individual students exhibiting extreme, challenging and complex needs
Requirements:
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting
* Obtain a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit
