Overview
Lindsay Australia is a leading transporter of fresh and refrigerated produce, supporting farmers from planting to retail delivery across a comprehensive road, rail, and logistics network. With a 70‐year history, we operate one of Melbourne's largest transport hubs, servicing over 750 customers and managing approximately 2,700 freight spaces daily. This role partners with the National Network Group to ensure smooth line‐haul operations (ex‐Melbourne).
What You Bring
- Proven experience in road and rail linehaul operations planning and management.
- Strong understanding of heavy vehicle compliance and interstate transport regulations.
- Experience managing resource planning including driver rosters and intermodal schedules.
- At least five years' experience managing driver performance and administration, including recruitment, administration, payroll approval.
- Ability to balance operational efficiency with exceptional customer service outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across operations, drivers and customers.
- A proactive leadership style focused on accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
- Sound problem‐solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the planning and execution of interstate linehaul movements (ex‐Melbourne) within legal and compliance requirements for heavy vehicle operations.
- Manage depot planning staff, linehaul and shuttle drivers including rosters, performance and payroll activities.
- Maintain high customer service standards across all interstate freight movements (ex‐Melbourne).
- Maximise utilisation of fleet and transport assets to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor and achieve operational KPIs across safety, service, compliance and cost performance.
- Work collaboratively with operational peers to reduce costs while maintaining service standards and compliance.
- Conduct depot and field‐based safety checks with drivers and operational teams.
- Support and complete all Lindsay Transport training and development requirements.
