Senior Events Officer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Events Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Engagement and Place team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality events that showcase the City's initiatives and services.
Your primary focus will be on managing the City's Major Event program, which involves coordinating with various stakeholders, developing event concepts, and ensuring seamless execution. You will also provide coaching and support to the Civic Events and Functions Officer to deliver civic events, Citizenship ceremonies, and functions.
* Develop and implement effective event strategies that align with the City's goals and objectives.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful event delivery.
* Manage event budgets, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience in events management, preferably in the local government sector.
* Sound knowledge of contemporary practice and policy relating to events management, grants management, and risk management.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
