Job Summary
Martinus is seeking a full-time Surveyor to support us on the Inland Rail Albury to Parkes Project. This position will be site-based and will suit someone local to the Wagga Wagga region or open to working on a FIFO arrangement.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Survey Control and Measurement
* Establish, verify, and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control networks, benchmarks, and reference points using GNSS and Total Station equipment.
* Conduct precise engineering and construction surveys to support rail, civil, and infrastructure works.
* Perform high-accuracy measurements to determine position, levels, alignments, and dimensions of structures and earthworks.
Rail and Track Geometry Surveying
* Carry out track geometry measurement, monitoring, and adjustment for slab and ballast track using GEDO Rail Trolley or equivalent rail measurement systems.
* Verify rail alignment, cant, gauge, and longitudinal levels in accordance with engineering design tolerances.
* Generate and analyse pre- and post-construction geometry reports to ensure compliance with design specifications.
* Provide accurate measurement data to support track tamping, rail installation, and final track certification.
Construction Set-Out and As-Built Surveying
* Perform construction set-out for civil and rail infrastructure including track works, concrete structures, drainage, and utilities.
* Conduct as-built surveys to verify completed works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
* Identify discrepancies between design and site conditions and provide technical feedback to engineers and project teams.
Data Processing and Technical Reporting
* Process, analyse, and adjust survey data using specialised software to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Prepare and certify survey reports, as-built documentation, and technical drawings for project records and handover.
* Interpret engineering drawings, design models, and specifications to ensure accurate survey implementation.
Project Coordination and Compliance
* Liaise with engineers, construction managers, and project teams to ensure survey requirements are met throughout project delivery.
* Ensure all survey activities comply with quality assurance standards, engineering tolerances, and project specifications.
* Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and safe survey practices on active construction sites.
* Monitor and maintain survey equipment calibration and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant Surveyor Qualifications
* At least 4 years of relevant experience
* Trimble or Leica Total Station and GNSS systems
* Trimble GEDO Rail Trolley or Amberg Rail measurement systems
* 12d Model and 12d Synergy
* Trimble Business Centre (TBC)
* AutoCAD / BricsCAD
* Survey data collectors and digital levels
