The Department of Management is a global leader in management research, education, and industry engagement. The 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked Monash University 44th in the world and 2nd in Australia for Business and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the development of and delivery of high-quality teaching in geopolitics and related areas such as trade policy and international business, to large and culturally-diverse cohorts of undergraduate and postgraduate students. We welcome candidates having a research program centred on one or more of these topics and aimed at publication in top tier international journals as well as securing research grants. The Department of Management is a diverse and inclusive group that develops actionable research, so impactful, interdisciplinary and engaged research developed through partnerships is encouraged. The successful candidate should demonstrate research leadership, including through supervision of PhD students, and contribute to the educational and administrative duties of the Department and Faculty such as by taking on course direction roles. As the successful candidate, you report directly to the Head of Department and will conduct original research leading to publications in top-tier refereed journals, attract external research funding, be responsible for the preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials, course coordination, consultation with students, supervision of PhDs, and play a leading role in research projects. To be appointable into this role, you must hold a doctoral qualification and/or recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area and have a proven track record of obtaining external research grants, a strong publication record, and a demonstrated ability to promote the discipline internally within the University, as well as externally both nationally and internationally.
