Key Information

* Position Type: Full time, fixed term until 30 June 2026
* Location: Darwin
* Salary Range: $86,905 to $95,515 pro rata per annum (Admin 5.1 to 5.4)

About the Role

Guided by the Team Leader, the Family Practitioner will collaborate with the Family Support Worker to form trusted working relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. Together, they will develop family support plans to inform interventions and services to enhance family functioning and capacity. The focus will be on keeping children safe and families together through a child-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally affirming approach.

What You Need to Succeed

Qualifications in related field – Child and Family, Community Services, Social Work, minimum certificate 3 and above or working towards

* 2 years of case management experience in similar field
* Well-developed knowledge of, and contemporary experience in, working with clients experiencing or at risk of experiencing FDV and relevant management strategies.
* Knowledge of the social determinants of health (environment, economic and social inequalities) that have a profound impact on the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Demonstrated ability to use culturally sensitive ways to ensure improved client access to DDHS and/or other health services.
* Proven teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively negotiate outcomes with a diverse range of people and service providers.
* High level of personal resilience and flexibility with the ability to deal with challenging situations.
* Demonstrated computer skills, especially in the use of client information systems or similar.

* 6-weeks annual leave per annum (pro-rata)
* 5 days paid leave during our end of year shutdown period (on top of annual leave).
* Salary packaging of up to $15,990 per annum.

* Willing to undergo a Police Check.
* Ability and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
