About The Role
The Mechanical Fitter (Afternoon shift roster) is a full-time position based at Wantirna South, Victoria. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will work Monday to Friday on the afternoon roster (2pm-10pm), assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work.
The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing or building background, a Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or Boilermaker Certificate, good attendance, and a strong awareness of health, safety, and the environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Complete planned maintenance tasks.
Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
General machining.
Complete repairs or modifications as requested by your Supervisor.
Mechanical fitting and maintenance related to conveyors, strappers, kiln rails, extruders, bricks handling machinery, bearings, rollers, etc.
Fabrication - simple stick and MIG welding.
Competence in welding.
Occasional use of machine tools like milling machines, lathes, and pedestal drills.
Exposure to hydraulics.
Maintain strong safety standards, familiar with Take 2 and JSEA safety tools.
Maintain safe work practices and high standards of housekeeping.
