News Corp Australia's State and Community division is seeking a dynamic senior journalist to lead the Canberra team as a National Political Editor. The role offers a front‐row seat to the nation's political stage, where you will report on key players, policies and debates that define Australia.
Responsibilities
* Break exclusive political stories and provide insightful analysis for a national audience.
* Collaborate with state‐based colleagues to ensure cohesive and comprehensive political coverage.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key political figures, policymakers and stakeholders.
* Deliver high‐quality content under tight deadlines, demonstrating initiative and resilience.
* Report directly to the Head of News for Network News.
Qualifications
* Deep curiosity and passion for uncovering stories that matter.
* Proven experience in political reporting or a related field.
* Strong multiplatform skills, including video broadcast and editing.
* Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
* Initiative, maturity and enthusiasm for tackling difficult and robust assignments.
* Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast‐paced, high‐pressure environment.
